Pakistan ODI squad for Australia 2019: Pak vs Aus one-day series

Pakistan is focusing on strengthening the Bench Strength and Managing the Workload before World Cup’
Pakistan has made eight big changes in the squad for the ODI series against Australia.

The Pakistan team has announced a squad for the ODI series against Australia in Dubai today. A total of eight changes have been made in this 16-member squad. Along with rest of the six players, including Captain Sarfraz Ahmed, four uncapped players have also been selected. Pakistan’s chief selector and former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is looking at this series as an opportunity to test the bench strength before the World Cup.

Informing the squad, Inzamam-ul-Haq said, “I am happy that we have been successful in preparing such bench strength which has helped us to make eight changes in this series. These are good signals for Pakistan cricket because now we have a huge pool of players who have competence and talent, and are desperate to take advantage of the opportunity available. ”

During the series against Australia, the Pakistan Cricket Board has relaxed the key players to manage workloads before the World Cup. The former cricketer said, “In keeping with the preparation of World Cup starting May 30, we have made these changes to manage the workload of players. In addition to five ODIs against Australia, we have three warm-up matches and then a five-match series against England, after which there are two World Cup warm-up matches. So we have at least nine games in which the Inshallah 11 matches will be created. It’s too much cricket in a very short time. If England does not have matches before the World Cup, then we do not make these changes. ”

Yasir Shah is also returning to the one-day squad through the series against Australia, which Inzamam has directly linked to the World Cup. Talking about the Pakistan team’s strategy, he said, “Yasir Shah has been included in the ODI squad after being involved in the ODI Squad that we can feed two risest spinners in our World Cup squad.”
