On the brilliant bowling performance of David Warner, Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan’s superb bowling, Hyderabad beat Chennai by six wickets in the Indian T20 league match.Batting first, winning the toss, the Chennai team made 132 for 5 wickets in 20 overs against Hyderabad. In reply, the hosts achieved the target of winning only 16.5 overs by losing 4 wickets. Jonny Bairstow scored an unbeaten 61 off 44 balls and brought the team to victory.
David Warner, who came to pursue the target of 133 runs from Chennai, started a horrific start with Bairstow. Warner added 50 runs for Hyderabad in just 4.3 overs after scoring four runs. During the Powerplay, he teamed with Bairstow to score 68 runs out of 11 runs.
Warner made a superb batting half-century and gave the team a quick start. Warner made his fifty off just 24 balls with the help of 10 fours. Hyderabad scored the first wicket with a score of 66 runs. Warner made 50 runs off 25 balls and was caught out on the catch by du Plessis for Deepak Chahar.
Captain Ken Williamson was unable to do much, and with just three runs, Imran Tahir gave him a simple catch. After two wickets fell, the Bairstow took the lead for the Hyderabad team and consistently scored the best shot to the door to victory. Bairstow completed his half-century on 39 balls with 3 fours and two sixes.
For Imran Tahir, Chennai got two wickets while Deepak Chahar and Karn Sharma got 1-1.
Earlier, Chennai scored a score of 132 against Hyderabad, thanks to opener Faf du Plessis (45) and Shane Watson (31). Ambati Rayudu scored 25 runs off 21 balls while Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 10 runs.
